POHA RECIPE
Flattened rice is a preparation of rice made from raw, toasted, parabolized rice. It is traditional to many rice-cultivation cultures in Southeast Asia and South Asia. It is also known as beaten rice, pounded rice, rice flakes, and pressed rice.
In India, poha is a very popular and favorite dish. People of India eat poha as a breakfast. Poha is very light and easy to make and healthy to eat. In short, it is all-rounder. So let's see the full Poha recipe.
POHA (FLATTENED RICE) RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cup Poha
- 1 medium Onion
- 2 to 3 Green chili
- Lemon juice (as per the need)
- Coriander leaves
- 1 Sprig curry leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 3 to 4 tbsp Peanuts
- 3/4 tsp Cumin seed
- 3/4 tsp Mustard powder
- 1/3 tsp Salt
- 1 1/2 Oil
INSTRUCTION
- Rinse the poha (flattened rice) in a large strainer. Poha takes 5 to 6 minutes to absorb water and soften. (NOTE: You will need to use thick and medium flakes otherwise the thin poha turn into mushy.)
- After that cut the onion into cubed, slite green chili, wash sprigs curry leaves.
- On the other hand take a pan add 1 1/2 tbsp oil and heat it on medium flame. Then Add the peanuts and roast them well until they turn golden. Then set aside the peanuts.
- After that in the same pan add 1 1/2 tbsp oil then add cumin seed and mustard seed and let them slutter.
- Then add the onion, other veggies, and 1 1/2 tbsp turmeric and cook until the onion turn soft.
- Then add the poha and mix them well. And turn off the heat. Taste the poha if you need salt then add and cover it until served.
- Garnish the poha with coriander leaves and roasted peanuts then enjoy your breakfast.
