CHILI PANEER RECIPE 

Chili paneer is the most lovable dish in India. Chili paneer originated in the 20th century. When Indo-Chinese cuisine began in Kolkata. Chili paneer emerged as a combination of paneer and the bold flavor of Chinese sauces. It is quite an interesting dish. In this article, we will see how to make chili paneer recipe. Step by step. So, let's rock. 

Chili paneer recipe

INGREDIENTS

FOR BATTER 
  1. 200 g paneer (cut into cube or triangle)
  2. 3/4 tsp red chili powder
  3. 3 tbsp corn flour
  4. 3 tbsp all-purpose flour 
  5. 1/7 tsp black pepper (as per the need) 
  6. 1/7 tsp salt (as per the need) 
  7. Water (as per the need) 
  8. 3 to 4 tbsp oil

FOR SAUCE 
  1. 1tbsp soy sauce
  2. 2 tbsp red chili sauce
  3. 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  4. 1/2 tsp vinegar
  5. 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  6. 1 tsp sugar

FOR CHILI PANEER GRAVY
  1. 1 tbsp garlic
  2. 2 tbsp spring onion (white and green chopped) 
  3. 1/2 tbsp capsicum
  4. 2 green chilies
  5. 1/4 tsp black pepper
  6. 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  7. 1/2 cup water (adjust as per the need)

INSTRUCTION

  1. For making batter take a bowl and add all the ingredients then add 3 to 5 tbsp water and mix them well. (NOTE: Make sure the batter is not too thick nor too runny.) 
  2. Add cubed paneer into the batter and mix them well. (NOTE: If you want more flavor then you can add 1/2 tsp soy sauce and 1/2 red chili sauce.)
  3. Heat the pan then add 3 to 4 tbsp oil. Make sure that the oil is hot enough. 
  4. Gently pour the paneer one by one into the pan. Spread them into the pan otherwise paneer will stick with each other. 
  5. Cook them until they turn into golden. (NOTE: If you do not add soy sauce and red chili sauce then your paneer might not turn into golden don't worry.) 
  6. After that turn off the gas and let the paneer cool down at room temperature. 

FOR CHILI PANEER

  1. Heat the 1 tbsp oil in the pan then add 1 tbsp chopped garlic and sauté them until it smells good.
  2. Then add cubed onion, capsicum and green chili and sauté them well.
  3. Once veggies are ready then pour 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp red chili sauce, 2 tbsp tomato ketchup, 1/2 tsp vinegar, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, and 1 tsp sugar.
  4. Pour the corn flour mixture and gently mix them well. (if you do not use corn flour, then add 1 to 2 cups water).
  5. Then let the sauces bubble.
  6. After that add 1/2 pepper powder, fried paneer, and spring onions. Then cook it on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes until it releases smokey aroma. And serve hot paneer chili.
NOTE: If you want chili paneer with extra gravy then follow these steps. 

FOR CHILI PANEER GRAVY

  1. Take a bowl, add 4 tbsp chili sauce, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 3 tbsp tomato ketchup, 2 tsp cornstarch 1 cup water and mix them well. 
  2. Sauté the onion and bell pepper for 2 minutes then add the mixture of sauces turn the flame low. 
  3. When the mixture goes boiling taste, the mixture add if you need something. (NOTE: If the mixture was too thick then add water as per the need and cook them.) 
  4. When the mixture was ready turn of the gas and let them cool down little bit. Then add the fried paneer and serve.
